Assembly and disassembly

Precautions before installation

• Before installation, check the specification of the selected air-hydro-converter once again.
• For the maintenance and safe operation of the product, secure some space around the product.
• Do not install the product at a place with high humidity or temperature. This may result in compromised performance or malfunction of the product.
• Be sure to install the air-hydro-converter vertically.
• When moving or handling the air-hydro-converter, protect the tube and the level gauge from damage.
• After completing the attachment of the air-hydro-converter, connect the pneumatic pipes.
• Place the air-hydro-converter higher than the actuator.
  If the converter is located lower than the actuator, the inside of the cylinder may be filled with air. In such case, use the air vent valve to remove the air from the cylinder.
  If the air vent is not available on the cylinder, release the oil pipe to vent the air out.

Piping

• Before connecting pipes, be sure to flush them to remove any foreign contaminants remaining inside the pipes.
  If the piping or fitting is connected using screws, take caution to avoid any breakage of the piping screws or entry of any foreign objects inside the equipment. This may cause malfunction of the product.

• Perfectly seal the pneumatic port, and then connect the pneumatic tube.
• Never use nylon tubes for oil piping.
• The fittings for oil piping may be insert fittings. Avoid using one-touch fittings, however.
• Keep the oil piping as short as possible, as cavitation can cause bubbling during operation.
• Do not suck the air from the oil pipe.

Oil injection

1. When injecting oil, use Type 1 ISO VG32 or VG46.
2. Remove the oil injection plug located on the topside of the air-hydro-converter. (Take caution not to use the packing while dismounting.)
3. Supply oil up to the red line on the HIGH side of the level gauge of the hydro-converter. Then, activate the actuator.
4. Operate the actuator repeatedly to fill up the actuator and the hydraulic pipes with oil.
5. Supply oil so that, after the return cycle of the actuator, the level of the oil comes between the High and Low levels of the level gauge of the air-hydro-converter.
6. Connect the dismounted oiling plug to the oil inlet of the oil tank of the air-hydro-converter.
7. When replenishing the oil, supply oil so that the oil level after a return cycle of the actuator comes between the High and Low positions while the oil level at the level gauge of the air-hydro-converter comes below the red line of the LOW position.

Removing pneumatic pipes

<div class="ico_danger">The installation or removal of a pressurized product may have risks of injuries and damages.</div>
<div class="ico_danger">Before performing removal work, MAKE SURE that the pressure in the product and the piping is released completely.</div>

1. Press and release the locking mechanism from the piping or fittings. Then, pull out and remove the hose.
2. Release the fitting from the connecting flange. Then, rotate the fitting and remove it.

Test run

1. Operate the actuator repeatedly to keep the oil surface speed of the air-hydro-converter within 200mm/s by adjusting the oil flow valve.
2. Make sure the oil is ejected out of the top pneumatic port of the air-hydro-converter during the return cycle of the actuator.
3. If the volume of the ejected oil is too much, reduce the level of the supplied oil.

Maintenance

Air supply

• Use clean air only. The filtering level of the air filter must not exceed 5 ㎛.
• Any chemicals, organic solvents, synthetic oil, or corrosive gas in the air may cause damage or malfunction of the components.
• Air with high level of moisture or foreign objects may cause malfunction. Install an air-dryer or an after-cooler at the inlet of the product.

Operation environment

• Protect the product from direct sunlight or radiation heat.
• Regularly inspect the attachment of the air-hydro-converter and the connection with external equipment.
• Regularly check for any damage or contamination on the exterior of the cylinder and pneumatic hoses.
• Regularly check if the output pressure is within the specification.
• Check if there is any air leak at the pneumatic connections or from the inside of the cylinder.

Cleaning

• Do not use toxic cleaning agents.
• Thoroughly wipe the external surface of the air-hydro-converter with a soft cloth. Keep out dust or foreign contaminants.
• Permitted cleaning agents: soap water (up to 60℃)
  Neutral detergents (free of aromatic compounds)
